Big Draw - the aftermath

I had meant to post about this earlier but you know how life happens! My flatmate and I went along to "The Big Draw" event last Saturday in the Aviva Square, Bank. We were excited to see what was going to happen as we only had a vague idea of what it was going to involve. When we arrived we were given t-shirts to wear but alas all the blue "Big Draw" t-shirts were gone. You're probably wondering why I was so sad about it... it had a really cool illustration by Quentin Blake on the front. Instead we wore "Festival of City" red t-shirts.

We were worried about the day as the weather was not great and the huge grey clouds looked sinister. we begun grabbing lots of cardboard and setting up tables and chairs for the art workshops that were going to take place in a matter of a hour. The workshops that were being held was Print bike (print making), drawing and walking tour of the city, cartoonist workshop, bring a mini city (sculpture/cardboard) and lots of drawing on huge sheets of paper.

There was also an old ice cream van which was changed into a chalk van where you could doodle all over it. My flatmate and I had a marvellous time drawing on it that it progressed onto the pavement!

Hopefully our chalky improvised signs encouraged more people to join in the drawing fun!
